You're misinterpreting what I said.
I was not making fun of it, I am suggesting that the man does not have the mental capacity to be a united states senator specifically BECAUSE of this. Being a POW does not automatically shield one from criticism, just like being a "vietnam war hero" didn't shield John F'n Kerry.
Do you have proof that someone that spends as many years subjected to the physical and mental torture in a prison camp would NOT have deletrious effects on one's psychological state?

No. And there is no need for it. but to imply that because someone was a POW, they shouldn't be able to serve, makes you no better than stalin after WWII, who wouldn't trust the troops that just won him the war.
