Zarqawi was convicted in absentia in Jordan and sentenced to death. This article makes absolutely no sense.

The Hashemite royal family has zero motivation to assist a man who tried to bring down their government and who has advocated their assassination.

It is possible that he is not being protected but is receiving medical treatment while in custody. If so Jordan gets first shot at his execution and will not let him go. This would also solve a problem for Iran since he would be a real hot potato. Iran would not want to sever any ties with Jordan to protect him. Its not a bad choice for Iran. They can't be accused of hiding a terrorist and they didn't turn him over to the US or Iraq. The rest of the Arab world will be glad we or Iraq didn't get him but will not protest his hanging in Jordan. Iran would be under a lot of pressure if they tried to keep him. He should have went to the US MSM for help.

You indicated that you believed the substance of the claim.
It is false Z man was not in Jordan. These are attempts to turn the US against allies. Saudi Arabia is the prime target for such endeavors and many fall for them.

I already saw this thread, Professor. I've forgotten more about the GWOT than you'll ever be able to ascertain (and I'm not even close to the most knowledgeable on this forum).

Jumping threads doesn't change the butt kicking you got elsewhere. Still waiting on that source for your false claim, or for you to address the oh-so-biased-for-Bush Wash Post article.

sorry, this is Arab propaganda, re read the original excerpt,

Abdullah had been harrassing Saddam to hand over Zarqawi, I believe Zarqawi has already been tried in absentia in Jordan for his involvement in the killing of a US diplomat

Jordan, compared to many countries, even our so called Western allies, take their terrorists very seriously

did you forget that it was the Jordanian Intelligence Services that uncovered the Millenium Plots of Al Queda in 1999....

Al Queda and friends are just as adept in using the gullible media as anyone else

Al Queda and friends are just as adept in using the gullible media as anyone else

They certainly have gotten better at it than the first year or so after 9-11.

I don't trust any of those Muslim countries since the name of the game is to do in the infidel. That is pretty well spelled out in the Koran. Deception of the non- believe is approved also, and you should not take as a friend the infidel. That's spelled out too.

I do not rule out Zarqawi getting help from any Muslim nation because it seems unlikely.

Zarqawi isn't trying to assasinate anyone in Jordan presently, he is fighting the infidel. As a muslim do you stop this? Islam trumps everything.

This is a religious war. Its not about countries or who likes who or who hates who. Nor is it about money. Allah knows Osama certainly had enough money in his own right. Like hundreds of millions of dollars.

It is simply doing what God (Allah)wants done. And they have put their lives on the line, at our expense, to accompolish that. - tom

What does this mean for our relationship with Jordan?

If it were true, maybe a lot. But since it's from an Iranian news propaganda source, it's more likely to be cover for his treatment in Iran.

but, but, the King has a caucasian wife and he rides a Harley! /sarcasm

His father had a Caucasian American wife (not his mother), he does not. Queen Rania was born in Kuwait to Palestinian parents. She went to primary and secondary school in Kuwait, then gained a degree in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo. After her graduation in 1991, Queen Rania worked at Citibank before taking a job at Apple Computer in Jordan.

That does show that Jordan is the Palistinian homeland. The Queen is one of them.

If you are not with us, you are against us.

I highly doubt that the King of Jordan is involved, but if we would find that he is, it will not be good for Jordan. We can withdraw all kinds of things that we give to them.

Good afternoon.
"Jordan IS the Palestinian homeland."

It seems to me the King of Jordan decided that wasn't the case a few years back.

"Al-Zarqawi received treatment in Amman hospital: Arab Times"

Honest. At first glance, I thought it said Animal hospital.
