Leaders of the national Christian men's ministry the Promise Keepers decried the "feminization of men" in response to allegations that the group is sexist and anti-gay, as well as defended their plans to rally at the University of Arkansas' taxpayer-financed stadium.
"Men break out with feminine attitudes; they've been feminized," the Rev. Robert Smith, senior pastor of Total Outreach for Christ Ministries in Little Rock, said Tuesday on behalf of Denver-based Promise Keepers Christian ministry. "They're not being a man for their women. There's an Eve in every man until it's taken out."
Smith and Steve Chavis, Promise Keepers' national spokesman, were in Little Rock to address plans by the National Organization for Women to hold a counter-rally to protest the June 10-11 Promise Keepers event at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.
Promise Keepers says that, for the $89 price of admission, men are taught to be both servants and leaders to their wives in the way that Jesus was a servant and leader to the church.

I think it's the exact opposite. After all woman has the word "man" in it, and she was taken from the side of a man, not a man from a woman's breast.
And let's not forget the frequent, often legally sanctioned rape and killing of women in the Muslim world. Yet, feminists see Christians as a bigger threat. Am I missing something?
For some reason the Maudes at NOW didn't have a problem with Iraqi religious fundamentalists putting AK-47s to womens' heads, or hanging them from cranes.
But children singing "Jesus Loves Me" gives them the purple, screaming meemees. Go figure.
They are not going to be satisfied until they have every straight male under their control and under their domination, their agenda is to have WORLD DOMINATIONAL
Yes, that's your donation.
Clintonistas one and all.
I know. I get peeved that the media always goes to this group when they want a "woman's" perspective. It's like going to Richard Simmons to discuss drill bits.
If you read the entire article:
"It's the first time the university stadium has hosted a private, non-athletic event, but the school said that's only because no one has ever asked to rent it before. Promise Keepers says it is paying the state $60,000 to use the stadium for two days."
So we have taxPAYERS PAYING to use a PUBLIC stadium-whats the problem? I've been to 3 PK rallies and they are most decidedly PRO WIFE! These people are a bunch of clods!
Suppose I'd subscribe to 'demons' but was was thinking more along the lines of 'harpies'. (See: 'And Then Came Maude') As far as rhetoric goes, they have 'special pleading' down to an art-form, and they certainly have an agenda. I don't think it includes strong family father-figures, but more along the lines of Maude's hen-pecked 'me-too' husband.
As far as Armageddon, who knows?
If that's the homosexual and feminazi line, "establishment" is utter BS. The Promise Keepers are renting a facility for private use, and most likely paying through the nose for it. The homos and lezzies have no right to interfere in a private event of this nature.
That won't stop their whining and wailing, of course.
This situation is utterly unlike school hours prayer in goobermint classrooms, or prayers at goobermint high school football games.
Since they find they find Christianity so intolerable but have no problem with Islam, why don't they all just ship off to Saudi Arabia? No Christians there, ladies!
Paying to have private, exclusive use is appropriate, and the right way to go. This gives them a right to tell the homosexuals and lesbians what they can do with their objections.
I've never been to one of their meetings, but I've heard only good things, and was favorably impressed by what attendence had done for a co-worker.
Don't get discouraged!
There are plenty of good guys right here on FR, or check out the military!
(Sometimes I think FR needs a "Singles Forum")
Now there's a thought: parachute Helen Thomas and a battalion of NOW man-eaters into Anbar province. :^)
Sounds just fine to me! ;)
