At the 500 banquet, she was presented with the Rookie of the Year trophy. Her response? "This looks a lot like the trophy for the fastest rookie."

Could it be that she was making a joke? Sheesh.

I loaded up Danica's website to show my husband her racing highlights. When he saw this

Finished second at the Formula Ford Festival in England, the highest ever finish for an American in the event.

He said that this event is cut throat racing and that if she came in second that she can drive!

My husband used to drive SCCA.

Danica has been racing since she was 10. That makes 13 years. She is good at it. Some people just want to belittle her accomplishments.

Maybe if she was butt ugly.......naw.......they'd still find something to whine about -- her being a woman and all.

Perhaps, but I don't think so. I heard was she said, and it didn't sound like she was joking, but it is hard to tell in that monotone and annoying voice that she has. But anyhow, it seems to fit with the rest of her personality, which, in my opinion, is very self-centered.

A quote from an interview she gave earlier this month at Indy: "I was actually walking back from pit lane during the day yesterday, and there was a group of about 15 little kids that looked like they were skipping school and screaming for me to come over. As soon as I walked across, they screamed even louder. I just think it's really flattering, and I think it's what the sport needs."

Asked about how she would feel about a victory at Indy? "I have a feeling it might change motorsports forever."

Just a couple of examples, but it seems like everytime I hear her open her mouth, it's always all about me.

Anyway, I'm not really interested in bashing her; I was just pretty surprised at the use of the word "humble" to describe her--it certainly wouldn't be something that I would ever consider using.
