I don't think any of them will lose the taste for Jihad. Their warped thought process is only inflamed more when they hear of another insurgent being 86'ed in Iraq or Afghanistan. If it's 70,000 than we have an extremely serious problem on our hands that needs to be dealt with immediately. I really get sick of the ACLU types who whine when our police do their jobs and interrogate people of Middle Eastern descent. There are cases where racial profiling is necessary, and the events of 9/11 and of the infiltration that you elude to necessitate it.

If they're close to the truth (and they are estimates, remember) why haven't there been any strikes? Lone gunmen nutcases are almost impossible to detect and even harder to interdict. They can't all be members of organized cells with documents, safehouses, intel and logistics...and plans. So where are the low tech strikes?

How's bout we start our own underground squad who's sole purpose is to find these scum sucking jihadists and send them home. Of course, we would use fedex and small boxes.
