That would be a mistake. I can almost see a Constitutional amendment prohibiting consecutive candidates from the same immediate family. Interesting, I could get behind that.

"dismantling the nation's sovereignty" . . . that's tin foil nonsense!
[BTW: Haven't we moved from an agrarian society, thru an industrial society to the current information/service-based society . . . Could have sworn I heard that somewhere . . . could it have been in one of those pesky MBA classes?!]

Interesting.
Would you have been in favor of an executive imposition of power in the Shiavo case, even if it were in violation of applicable law, and the state and federal constitutions?

"But, its over. It is a done thing." Yes, Terri's dead and nothing can fix that. But it wasn't right, even if it was done under color of law.

Amendments limiting the presidency are undemocratic. If the people want a foreign born president or want a president to serve more than two terms, then it's their choice. I'd almost agree, if I thought that mob-rule populism was a good thing.
Since our law comes from the Senate and the House (and not a King-President), a two term Senate and, say maybe, a six term limit on Representatives would be more productive to a free nation.
George W. Bush '08
REPEAL THE AMENDMENT THAT PROHIBITS A THIRD TERM!
Sigh ...

The Congressional subpeona angle should have been pursued, with vigor.

I agree. Terri is dead, and it wasn't right. While it was done under the color of law and was *legal*, it wasn't necessarily *right*.
I completely agree on that.

I really dont know if the country could survive any more compassionate conservatism from the bush family I'll vote for another Bush when the Airbus has pigs in every seat.

In 1999 Jeb signed an amendment to section 765 of the Florida statute which for the first time classified food and water as a "life Prolonging procedure." Without this amendment Terry could not have been legally starved to death.

Maybe... maybe not.
I thought is was succinct.
May I guess that the thought of a Jeb Bush presidency makes you feel all warm and gooey?
Daddy Bush was a joke. Gee Dubya, except for his stand in the War on Terror, is a joke. I have little hope for Jeb.
We need a REAL conservative next time; not a wishy-washy "compassionate" conservative. I'll say it again: Juck Feb.

Dang. That's a bummer. Can you point me to your pages where you demonstrated or otherwise fought against this law at the time it was passed?

After the way he handled Teri Shiavo, I wouldn't vote for him for anything. I have a long memory!

2008 looks like a golden opportunity for a third party candidate. Shoot, I may have to clear my calender for that year.
