I wouldn't doubt that this is all a red herring, in the sense that Felt (more likely his family) is more a willing shill than he ever was a true source of much vital info, in that the MSM/Rats will use this to get the public to make 'mental comparisons' to Nixon as dishonest and not to be trusted, a criminal, and the ongoing Vietnam war, (that he really inherited and wanted to escalate bombings to bring it to a quicker end) with President Bush, fill in the blanks, and the ongoing Iraq war...

Although it's not out of the realm of possibility, I can't imagine the family defaming their grandfather's legacy in the interest of perpetrating a hoax. I also can't imagine Bernstein substantiating this report, and then later reneging. His credibility would be destroyed. IMO, Occam's Razor is in play.
