I presume they will now prosecute him for a government employee divulging private information.

Can't touch him.

President Reagan gave him a pardon back in like 1980 or so.

Maybe the gipper knew?

Have you heard Liddy comment today? If so, did he sound like he might pursuit legal action?

Woodward and Bernstein basically made some of it up.

Deep Throat was a heavy drinker. Mark Felt was not. Mark Felt stoppped smoking in 1943 according to James on Fox News with Brit Hume. He thinks there were many sources not just Felt!

Eh, given the Oil shock, the economic problems (which Nixon's RINO policies would not have done any better job on) I suspect a Dem would have won in 1976, but not the doddering ninny from Georgia; one with a better chance of keeping himself in office; could have been (shudder) Ted Kennedy. A lot would have been different without Watergate, Ted may have actually run.

But it's doubtful Ford would been the GOP candidate.... Maybe it would have been Reagan vs. Teddy Kennedy in 1976. That would've been a slugfest.

Hillary is behind this timing.

Cox was going to be a challenge to her in NY. The issue was going to be Nixon impeachment vs. Clinton impeachment.

Now she can be one up on Cox by having CNN broadcast Dirty Dick stories ad nauseum.

Is there a stature of limitations on those type of things?

Doesn't matter, he has a pardon from former President Reagan.

"Why is the guy coming forward." ... my guess is "button, button who's got the button". What's anybody going to do to a 91-year old. Zero percentage in releasing this data.. EXCEPT to the Democrats. Their other sleeper "deep throats" can stay safely hidden. Perhaps even pass scrutiny and gain access to WH cabinet posts. Lesson learned: Dems did it before, they'll do it again.

Am I impressed that WaPo and Bernstein "confirmed" Felt as "deep throat"? No. I smell something.

I know the Santa Rosa "environment" far too well. I also am knowledgeable about that type of "high security" environment and profile. It's pathetic, the Dems think pinning the title of "Deep Throat" (the one and only) on a 91 year old man is going to work. Turn the trick. But they do think that.

Nah. Something's funny here.

What record is there to make "straight"? ?

The man, Felt, if it was him, betrayed his own office. ... button-button, whose got the button...

And this guy Mark Felt, is not now of sound mind/memory?

I've been so busy today, I can't seem to verify much.

So this Felt fellow is now a self-admitted criminal. What kind of justice can be imposed upon a senile 90+ year old untrustworthy former bureaucrat?

I'm pretty certain pardons narrowly cover a specific possible crime. He wasn't pardoned for Watergate. I mean, if it turned out he killed someone and buried them in a shallow grave in 1972, the Reagan pardon wouldn't help him.

But again, the idea that this guy would be prosecuted is silly. Even if he wasn't senile.

Reagan pardoned him for the wiretap on the anti-war groups

Not for being deep throat
