That region of sequence identity is what I was referring to when I wondered about how close the genetic similarity is between H5N1 and Marburg/Ebola.

If this identical genetic sequence is long enough, then I assume it is not likely to have occurred naturally (perhaps recombination could do it, however).

China's refusal to share information the whole world needs for defense of the human race, combined with this new found genetic similarity between two very different viruses, combined with the very surprising claim that Ebola is present in China, raises some obvious (and horrible) questions.

So... Perhaps the entire report is bogus? Because, if it's not, we have a really big problem...
