If only they'd taped vertically--invisibly--along the edge of the door, rather than horizontally, around the edge of the door, where it became visible. Or **gasp** just used transparent tape.

Also, what's with the walkie-talkies? No earpieces? I know darn well they had Radio Shack in 1972. What a strange omission.

Heck, they could have just damaged the striker mechanism so that it could be slid back with the tip of a knife. About 1/4 of all locks that I am inclined to break into are already in this state of disrepair.
