Bush stated this war is not about one person. Even if we get Osama, the war is not over..
I agree with that. The problem is that there are several million people in that area of the world who either are terrorists, support terrorists, help hide terrorists, wannabe terrorists when they grow up, or are just cheering them on. We don't have what it takes to win this war against them. I mean we don't have the killer instinct to win this war. Our military soldiers do... but our politicians don't. So now we're talking about planting democracy in countries as a way of winning the war on terrorism.
To date nobody has explained to me in a way that makes perfect, or really even a little sense, how this will win the war on terrorism.
Cheney says today that we'll be out of Iraq by 09. Like that's a victory? In the mean time we attacked Iraq because our intelligence said they had weapons of mass destruction even though Iraq denied it. (I'm sure they had them too)..... But right now Iran is telling the world that they are developing nukes. They're not denying it. They're boasting about it. But our president in this term does not have the political support to do anything about it. That's a lame duck admin in my opinion.
