Why do I have the definite feeling that if we start with the demoltion of the homes owned by every controlling little despot doing research at Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute and Heriot Watt University, the problem will have a tendency simply to disappear?

Every single one of these houses is owned by a voter. I doubt seriously that any dimwit politican is going to stand up and ask or demand a house to be demolished. There is such a thing as private property...and these envirnomental geeks might want to learn that fact before they go around suggesting such things.
