I don't know enough to comment about the illegal status of the wife and deportation issues.

What does come to mind for me is that if it were my child it might not be financially possible to pick up and go. There also may be restrictions placed by the court.

Well, she needs to move ahead with divorce proceedings, get the lawyer to get full guardianship since Scott can communicate and does not want to be with his wife. His doctor can verify that.

I would not wait if I were her, or they might be looking at a replay of the Terri Schiavo story. If he were my son, I would not wait for that to happen.
