She should thank God she wasn't caught doing this in Singapore or she'd have already swung by the neck. Some people just don't get that what their culture/laws might consider "no big deal" is a big deal to others, and vice versa. Don't screw around on foreign soil.

I have to say, after reading the article, if I were her, I might prefer to be hanged.

Not just Singapore. Other countries with the death penalty for drug offences are Malaysia, Vietnam, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Brunei.
