As I do every morning I went to get my weather. I seldom actually READ the ads but my step-son wanted to know what "gay/lesbian" means. I had no idea what he meant until he pointed out the ad that I copied.
This has to be the utmost in inappropriateness I have ever seen! One would never expect to see this on the weather channel's website.
Next time you go there you might want to read the ads before your kids do!
Looks like I have to find a different source for my online weather.

Are you sure you did not go to "gayweather.com" by accident?
Just tell your step-son that gay men is digusting and wrong, but attractive lesbian women are hot!

Hey! I grew up in Warren. Graduated from Warren Area HS (Go Dragons). I was not aware that there were any Freepers there ("They're everywhere, They're everywhere!" - A common DU lament). Anyway, its nice to hear of the home town, especially such a small, out of the way one. Warren really is a beautiful town, IMHO. Sometimes I wish I appreciated it more when I lived there. Perhaps we knew each other in a former life. That would be interesting too.
BTW: Those advertising people are wasting their dollars on those kinds of ads in that market, IMHO. Homosexuality, for the most part, requires anonymity to survive. That is a commodity in short supply in Warren.

I went to their site and didn't see any of the gay related advertisements you mentioned. Then I clicked to my local weather and there were the ads concerning gay cruises, etc.

"Weather.com" sounds like a place to go for your spy-ware. Are you sure you are going to the Weather Chanel?

You might want to check who is using your computer. The Weather Channel most likely uses "targeted advertisements." Cookies and history files on your computer could be telling TWC what type of ads to display. This would be opposed to Islamic Island Cruises.....

There is weatherunderground.com which has everything, but probably including spy ware.
I now have "my yahoo" on my tool bar.
You can custom design the page to give you whatever content you want, such as weather in any city of the world.
You can list more then one city and then click for full details of that city. You can also set up market reports, money exchange rates....almost anything you can imagine.

My family settled in Warren when they came over from Germany in 1850. Lived on Jefferson and Water Streets.
In fact, I'm headed there today for a little day trip.
And I agree, it is a pretty town.

I like the NOAA site. No ads, no popups, no spyware, and it tells me all about the weather throughout the country.
Here's my local forecast

If only advertising I personally approved of was permitted, I guarantee you there would never be another commercial for American Idol or Fear Factor. Sadly, nobody made me America's Advertising Czar. Their loss.
Holiday tours are a legal service. Gays take vacations like anybody else. They are a market in the same way as are retirees, veterans, and heterosexual newlyweds, and people will try to sell to them.
I'd recommend nobody click the original link, or spread the poison beyond the original site if you really think it's all that offensive.

Yeah, but it would be nice if a guy could just check the weather without having to get into a full blown homosexuality duscussion with his small child.

All I get is a Circuit City add and a popup add for a heterosexual dating service. I generally check with the site three or four times a day.

I agree that is inappropriate. But it is typical "in your face" agenda pushing by the queers and fags.
Other sources for weather:
National Weather Service. We're paying for this, might as well use it :)
And during tropical storm season they have the latest info.
Weather Underground. They have great NextRad radar maps.
Between these two sites you should find everything available from weather.com and then some.

If I were Americas Advertising Czar, I would ban any commercial with Billy Mays (Orange Glow) and Tony Little (Gazelle Freestyle Strider). I really hate people yelling at me particularly on TV.
