I don't condone the violation of federal laws by people who hire illegals. But at the same time I don't live in fear of undocumented laborers who are providing essential goods and services without which our economy could not continue to grow.

I simply recognize the economic reality that our policy makers have to work with.

Rounding up eleven million people and kicking them out of the country is not a real option in today's political and cultural climate.

Did you see the reaction of FReepers to the thread a coup[le days ago about the Canadian couple separated from their 15 year old daughter because they were not allowed to return to the U.S.? Imagine the heart wrenching pictures and stories of 11 million people being uprooted and dislocated. It would rival the relocation horrors of Russia and China.

Sealing our borders is no a real option. It would be impossible. The only realistic solutions involve some type of guest worker program.

"undocumented laborers"

The legal term is "illegal aliens". Oh, the laws don't apply to the illegals in your opinion. You're one sick puppy.

"It would rival the relocation horrors of Russia and China"

That is a shamefull comparison to the illegal alien situation in the USA.I hope you rethink that.

If we need foreign workers to help our economy grow, we can let in more LEGAL immigrants. We don't need illegal alien lawbreakers.

We don't need to round up any illegal aliens. Cut off ALL taxpayer funded services to illegal aliens while at the same time crack down HARD on businesses that knowingly hire illegal aliens. With no prospects for a job and no taxpayer funded goodies available to them, illegal aliens will begin to voluntarily head back to their home countries.

Sealing our borders is the ONLY secure option, along with immediate deportation of all illegals.

I don't give a crap about what "roots" they have in any community or HOW it may tear a family apart.

Screw the illegals AND their idiot cheerleader-apologists such as yourself.

Guest workers! Sheesh, what a moron!

PS, let 'em take their spawn back to Mexico with them.

Oh, OUR families were torn apart for centuries during slavery, but you don't hear me whining about it.

To hades with the illegals. Send 'em all back immediately.

I seem to remember you posting that you were not yet a citizen of The United States. So what's up? Are you in line for a loan too?

I agree. President Bush continues to allow in thousands from the Mid East on visas every month. Clearly 911 didn't alter policies or the cultural climate.

Sealing our borders is no a real option.

There are plenty of plenty of Americans who would volunteer to do it for free.

Actually, if the govt would enforce the law, the number would be slashed by attrition. They stay here because they can get jobs (illegally), free healthcare to make up for the fact that they work for wages too low to afford healthcare, and other services. Stop that, and most will go home.
Saying we can't round them up and kick them out is a straw man.
