Yeah, but Mikey's been around for nearly 20 years, he's one of the "old-timers" from back in the days when you had to be big and strong to wrassle a stock car around the track.

And except for the races he won for DEI when they had the restrictor plate races covered ... which they don't anymore, and IMHO that is showing the cracks and problems with that team right now ... Mikey hasn't exactly had a Hall of Fame career.

I think that's a shot from her Maxim layout. Somebody asked earlier in this thread why folks think she's attractive. IMHO, it's because she's dark-haired in what seems like an endless sea of blondes out there in entertainment and sports, and because she has a rather nice body.

"He's right about the physics......stated alternatively, she has a handicap of more than 1 1/2 laps."

How would you handicap her with her being a rookie in this race?

Well, now we know why he can't win in the IRL, what's his excuse for not winning in NASCAR?

Gotta agree with you there. Maybe DEI has finally started to unravel in The Man's absence...

my bad... there's a minimum weight, but, no "set weight" so the driver's weight still comes into play with the more he weighs...
if it were spec weight, the car and driver would have to weigh a specified total and you either lose weight or have weight added till you meat the spec... i guess that was my point but not made too clearly

But she has to be able to drive the car exceptionally well. Otherwise we could find any 50 pound midget and put him/her behind the wheel and win. Natural selection would seem to favor smaller more agile competitors in this sport where the physics plays such an important role. Gender is irrelevant. Lisa Leslie, or Serena Williams, would be just as handicapped. Jeff Gordon or even Paul Newman, have a size advantage over the above women.

If she's like most women (including myself) she probably really weighs like 105. Not that it would make much difference, anyways... ;-)

Ps: Yes, I weigh 140. Or do I?

Eddie Gaedel had a definite size advantage when he had his one and only plate appearance in the major leagues. He was a midget put on the team by Bill Veck more for a publicity stunt than anything else, but he walked on 4 straight pitches because his strikezone was so miniscule.

Danica is no Eddie Gaedel. Although her light weight is an advantage, she has lots of other pluses that make her a good bet to finish strong and justify the backing she's been getting.

Yes, precisely because it is a 500 mile race and driver weight is an infintesimal factor over the course of the entire race. I would think experience would weigh much much heavier.

Well, gee, maybe she's winning because she's fast.

Gordon, a former open-wheel driver now in NASCAR, contends that Patrick is at an advantage over the rest of the competitors because she only weighs 100 pounds. Because all the cars weigh the same, Patrick's is lighter on the race track.

"The lighter the car, the faster it goes," Gordon said. "Do the math. Put her in the car at her weight, then put me or Tony Stewart in the car at 200 pounds and our car is at least 100 pounds heavier.

Nobody told Patrick to be a FAT ASS.

These are the same clowns who were saying in previous years that a woman didn't have the upper body strength to drive cars pulling high Gs.

Whining wussies.

I've looked at all the photos of her on this post, and I'm surprised that guys are calling her a "beauty" and a "babe". She's a young girl, average looking and showing off her legs and smile to professional photogs. What's up with this generation of males, is everything with a skirt and pair of legs a "beauty"?

Same here. Very average looking young lady. Not ugly by any stretch, but hardly beautiful.
