AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has issued a proclamation setting Tuesday, Nov. 8, as the date for the special election to fill the unexpired term of former State Rep. Joe Moreno in the Texas House of Representatives District No. 143.
The vacancy occurred when Rep. Moreno died in a traffic accident earlier this month.
Under the governor’s proclamation, candidates must file their applications with the Secretary of State no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
