British diplomats believe that Mr Chirac will call for France, Germany and other nations to form a "core Europe" in which they can push ahead with integration without being held back by laggards such as Britain.

If only Germany would invade France again, I do believe the world would laugh. It's great because Chirac is acting like that little tyrant, Rumplestiltskin.

It's funny, I was reading in the "Berlin Diary" in a bookstore, about an account whereby a French tank troop encountered a German panzer troop and had begun to push them back as the Germans had to retreat given that they were out of shells for the tanks.

Well, the order came from the German brass to turn on the French and return fire w/ whatever they had, only small arms fire while making it appear that they were mounting a panzer assault. The French, according to the author, then fled at the mere sight of a German attack being mounted.

Oh, so French! I was laughing my brains out! On their own home turf! What a bunch of [w]ussies!
