Isn't his kid in the U.S. House and considered a rising star of the Democrat Party? Wouldn't that fact alone make it a national story?

He's seems to be exempt from all negative coverage because he's black.
Yeah, I just checked on that, he is indeed Harold Ford's father.

It sounds like he is a novelty among Democrats considering that he has actually resigned after being indicted. Possibly he is trying to save the nephew embarassment. He needn't have bothered, the media would cover for him.
Ford's in deep trouble. He will actually do some real jail time over this. It's all on tape.
