US Intelligence officials have told President Bush news that has left him stunned:

Iran has completed all elements required for an atomic bomb.

The intelligence information asserted that North Korea this year transferred components to Iran to assemble a plutonium based nuclear warhead.

The components were believed to have originated in Pakistan.

We are not going to nuke China. If a nuke goes off or is set off by Iran then we will deal with Iran.

Are these the same people that told Bush and others that Saddam had certain weapons? I don't have a lot of faith right now in who is telling the truth.

I feel for Bush trying to make a decision on how to handle this.

I wouldn't be surprised if Israel doesn't intervene. Perhaps someone should do something BEFORE Iran actually has the weapon.

I think we are running out of time.

We are not going to flatten nations. I don't understand why people say things like this. It makes us sound like we have no control. The United States will have a measured response to whatever happens. Don't look for Iran to be sending nukes into the United States (or anywhere else for that matter.)

I am sure that Israel and the U.S. has a plan to deal with Iran. I would imagine North Korea would be more tricky. Hopefully China will take care of them.

Hyperbole is a useful way of letting off emotional steam- it's much better than going out and starting a physical fight in order to vent. I think most people accept that it's mostly hyperbole.

" The president mentioned soon to come fuel air bombs and predators today in his Annapolis address."
Yes. Not sure what you are implying. A predator can only carry a relatively small payload, depending on attitude, wind speeds, total distance. Are you suggesting somehow we would drop fuel air bombs on some given target via. a UAV?

Ooooooops--wait a minute. I just saw yesterday you want to send the Palestianians $50 million. Sorry for asking. I should have rephrased that. You never will learn.

And you're a republican, right?

And you're a republican, right?

I vote Republican as the lesser of two great evils.

If I were you, I would not align myself with a "party", although the only feasible way to vote is Republican (forget third party). Fight for principles and fight to reclaim our nation. You will accomplish more by holding the Republicans accountable than you will be bashing the RATs.

Trust Building at the Highest Levels must now accelerate to slow down the threat of a nuclear bomb going off somewhere in the world. It's not really important who might set the first Post WWII bomb off, the problem is the actual bomb going off itself.

A country does not sink the billions of dollars in R&D etc. to build a nuclear weapon with the primary purpose to then give it to some radical group that would use it.

I agreed with your entire post except for the above part. There is actually one scenario where a country that spent billions on making and acquiring a nuke, may give it to a rag tag bunch of terrorists. For example, if the country wanted to utilize their bomb and capitalize on their investment per say, they may not want to be implicated in the nuking. For example if they wanted to nuke another county that would completely annihilate them if they knew they were responsable for the nuking. This may have already occurred when apparently a very good middle man was utilized in the Anthrax WMD attack on the US. We still dont know who the middle man even was in that case of WMD utilization.
