I wasn't going to say anything, but I think so, too. :) I think the button pushers need to be publicized. I'd almost bet its the same people over nad over and over. Chronic whiners. People should have the right to defend themselves against accusations.

It was a serious point I was making and no, I am not whining as I stated clearly in my post. Some of you here take yourselves far, far to seriously and think nothing of passing judgment at the drop of a hat (or thread). It's a forum, folks, it's for fun, and perhaps those of you here who believe the world exists to see your words ought to look into yourselves to try and discover what shortcomings and personal deficiencies exist within your lives that bring you to this conclusion. Hail the mighty freeper for he can do no wrong. He is all seeing and all powerful. I'll give some of you one thing, you are a source of amusement but I wonder who much trouble it is to keep that halo shined?

Sounds more like a responsible FReeper to me. Those threads way back when, the ones where some FReepers were giving the green light to 18 year olds digitized to look like prepubescent children... I stayed away from the forum entirely for over a year after that. Made my stomach turn. I don't think there is anything "left" about not wanting to associate with that kind of rhetoric.

We all have different tolerances for what we can accept.

I never saw the "kiddie porn" thread, but it wouldn't have driven me away. It's just one thread of thousands. And i'm sure the authors received a thorough tongue-lashing rom other posters, indicating that it was not the opinion of the forum at large.

That's how things should be settled, IMHO.

Well, during the immigration debacle, I think there was serious unfairness.

Good, honest, true American types were being labeled nazis and extremists, and many left, while somewhat radical liberal free for all advocates stayed and continued what I and many others considered abuse.

But Jim and the mods seemed to have let it even out, for which we can all be greatful. I, for one, almost left.

I guess the only unknown is about the mods. Who knows? Maybe somebody will get banned because one of the mods got a speeding ticket or something. It's a somewhat arcane part of being a member.

Even after all the work, I wish there was more that could be done about thread duplicates. Colin Powell gets a headache and suddenly there's 45 threads about it.

Maybe there should be a "thread post suspension" status for newbies and abusers, etc. One where they can reply to posts but not start a new thread.
