These guys are ready for assisted living in the land of the rising sun. They most likely went native or even maybe deserters (imagine that!!) ! People like them who live into their 90's are survivors. This pair of dozos must have had interesting lives knowing very will that Japan surrendered. Together in paradise with their Filipinas, they pleasured in nipa huts. Tuba, fish-heads and rice aplenty. Yet, they needed to fit and have protection.

It is very likely they served as military advisors to the Mindano separatist moslems. Always a surpisingly vigorous force. They aligned themselves with the local warlords/sultans. I met with Phil. military staff in 1978 in Zamboanga who fought these men. They never surrendered to anyone. It was a full time insurgency/war. Although the island is primative and remote, all its' inhabitants knew well the score. It was the wild west. Stupid people did not survive. This pair lived long and well.

I totally agree with that. You don't live that long in that environment without help or smarts.

I gonna LOVE the book that these two guys write.

Wanna bet they were actually "military advisors" to the Moros or the Hukbalahap?
