Britney Spears has been told that her new UPN network reality TV show faces the axe unless it attracts more viewers.
The pop diva is said to be so distraught by the news that she is now undergoing counselling sessions to 'come to terms' with her waning popularity reports the London Daily Star.
'The worst thing is that the viewing figures are so low, she's upset that her fans don't seem to care any more. It's painful for her that her fans have stopped listening to what she has to say,' a source was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, the 'Toxic' singer, age 23, has been rapped by her mother for revealing a series of intimate sex secrets on her show.
Her mother, Lynne Spears, called her daughter immediately after the show aired to protest the personal relevations as they set a bad example to Britney's teenage sister, Jamie Lynne.

These are people who have a job. That job is one that has a bunch of psychophants running around for one reason or another, and all these people do is tell the "celebrity" how wonderful they are, or how important they are. Eventually, these people begin to believe it. That's when bad things happen. I really liked the Dixie Chicks, and still listen to their music occasionally. But the only reason that I noticed them was their music (well, OK, the two sisters are cute too), and if I wanted political opinions, I'd go to FR or CSPAN. As soon as they started talking about politics, I just tuned them out. For some reason, they started believing that their opinions mattered more than their music, and while their opinions DO matter, they really only matter to them, and the people to whom they're close.
Ms Spears seems to have thought that since her life seems so amazing to her, it would to everyone else too. Especially given the "success" of that show by Paris and Nichole. What I don't think that she counted on was that (I believe) most of the people watching "The Simple Life" were watching it for the same reason people watch auto and train accidents. They just can't believe what they're seeing. And most people have a level of tolerance that's reached pretty quickly in these cases. How many times can you watch Paris Hilton be a skank? Unfortunately, however interesting her life seems to her, nobody else really gives a rat's rear end. And it seems that nobody ever really told her that while she may be talented and quite a special entertainer, that's how she should have left the relationship with her audience. And it seems that she's crushed by it.

I think Britney just picked the wrong network. UPN is terrible, she should have stuck with MTV.

I predicted last October she would have a subscription porn website within 18 months, and I stand by that.
It must be tough to have a show worse than Anna Nichole Smith's. Brit's appeal was her sport-f*** potential. Since she put her complete white-trash stupidity on display, got knocked up and married some redneck trailer trash, her sex appeal is greatly reduced.
You were never a "never was." You are a normal, everyday, ordinary person and believe me...that makes you not only A REAL STAR but...also VERY SPECIAL. The entertainment field is way to overrated!

UPN is to white trash what MTV is to brain fried losers - it's a fine line.
But she will drop the preganacy weightand probably Cletus in a few months for her big/never ending 'comeback'
actually i understand she contacted Tiffany(remember her) to learn the details of a successfull career doing shows at the mall.
But putting a show on UPN is pure career suicide unless you are Tyra Banks.
