Good morning, fellow political junkies. Senate gets an early start today, ETA 8:30 am. Reid asked for it yesterday, Frist said No Problem, that surgeons start working at the crack of dawn. Hmmm?..Could the good doctor want to "operate" on some Dems today? Debate on Bolton will continue today..they've finished drying the carpet under Voinovich's desk. GOP filed cloture motion yesterday, the vote will be about 6PM tonite. Will the Dems filabuster? Lots of talk that many in the Dem caucus want this to go away, they are NOT happy with Biden and Dodd dragging this out. If the Dems concur, we could get a confirmation vote tonite.
The Raven! That suits Sheets!
Bingo! lol
They have to have a quorum. I am guessing the question is would enough Dims run and hide to try to head of the vote for lack of a quorum?
Yeah, Dr Nukem is one fine man.
We're gonna be here "forevermore"
"Frist points out Annan supports Bolton's selection."
Is that a good thing?
I don't think they will hide, but it will be close. I think some won't vote at all.
Chaucer
Will they have to go looking for the "7 nitwits" under BoTox's skirt (or pant suit)
That's great... we need some junior GOPers
When the c-span people talk over the picture like that, it creeps me out and I start looking around for whose talking!!
OK, I'll try. cyncooper and Dog are here,
and we have a lot of GOOD reporters and note takers on this thread.
To answer my own implied question, I just looked it up and a quorum is 51 in the Senate.
Sure that's not "The Ravin'"
Well, I just got another call from the NJ Republican Committee. Told them the same I have told the RNC, with a little added on, regarding how the acting governor who refused to endorse Bret Schundler would never see a dime of my money.
Because if there was no vote the hamster was going to be upset.
We're gonna be here "forevermore"
I nominate this the best quip of the day!
Whoa! I doubt it, don;t you?
Well, I knew it was scheduled for 6pm, I specifically came to the thread when I noticed the time and came right to the end only to have the first posts I see were "no vote" so that's why I asked.
I see those posts were in error and the schedule remains as it was.
Thank you
The tears are welling up
