I only started reading Ron Paul in earnest a year or two ago. I do suppose he is such a Constitutionalist (as if that was a bad thing) that the moderates that run the GOP would never allow his nomination. I think they'd fight hard against him as VP to boot. I've been told Newt tried to help defeat him way back.
