CFR was despicable enough McCain proved his absolute contempt for the Constitution by sponsoring this garbage. I still was a bit perplexed why Bush would sign such an obviously unconstitutional assault on our Republic.

I'm beginning to think that McCain is an agent for another government the way he acts. He is a totally destructive "man".

Bush signed it because he didn't want bad PR and figured that any court worth its salt would strike it down on First Amendment grounds. The trouble is, our court system is not worth its salt.

The whole CFR business was a bungled political calculation.

Yes, and I'm perplexed also as to why he signed CFR which
clearly violates the First Amendment. I'm also perplexed
about the Prescription Drug bill which is the biggest
boondoggle since LBJ and which will cost us trillions
after it starts to kick in in '06. Look - it's politics
and payback time. McCain is still sore about 2000 and
Trent Lott (who also praised the 'gang of fourteen') is
getting Bush for failing to defend him after the Strom
Thurmond debacle and supporting Frist for Majority
Leader. Even that old boob from Virginia, Warner, has
joined the 'gang of fourteen' and decided that in his
dotage he should support filibusters rather than the
Constitution. He even said tonight he'll probably run
again. He'll be like a justice of the Supreme Court and
hang around until he has to be transported to work
on a gurney.
