That's because you listen to the MSM. Russia is not Heaven, but then neither is America. Things have changed considerably since Yeltsin, but the media and certain groups are doing everything in their power to brand Russia with Stalin. The last I heard Putin had a 72% approval rating with Russians. You also might want to read the following article:
