The voters of California approved this pay raise commission. Not a small detail.

(Thomas Dominguez, a member of the commission that approved the salary hike, said the increase was needed so residents who are not wealthy can run for office. )

Huh?

The Governor has two vacancies on that commission that he could appoint to sway the voting. So what's up with that?

I suppose it seemed like a good idea not to have the legislature voting on their own pay raises. What's shocking is this commission's decisions are not reviewable or subject to veto!

I sure as hell didn't approve it.

Nor do i recall ever seeing anything on the ballot giving them a raise.
