List whatever you want for his accomplishments, his stance on illegal immigration and the damage it's doing to this country far outweighs any positives from his time in office. Thanks to him and his crowd of open border / free trade at all costs this country will pay a heavy price in the not too distant future.
Look, I'm certainly no fan of open borders and illegal immigration, but Bush didn't suddenly throw open some gate to Mexico that Clinton and every previous president had kept securely padlocked. And while I think Reagan was a great man and president, many here seem to imply that the Republican party and true conservatism were buried with him. But can you tell me his big anti-illegal immigration or anti-free trade initiatives?

Reagan's record on immigration was mixed. He signed the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, which included stepped up border enforcement and sanctions against employers who knowingly hire illegal workers. But that legislation also legalized 2.8 million undocumented workers***"
We can argue policy all day and that's great. My point is that it seems we would do well to keep SOME perspective and avoid hyperbole "Welcome to slavery"? and "Worst Prez ever"? Puh-leeze... a non-starter if ever there was one.
If any of us would have said on Sept. 12, 2001 that the the country would be where it is today, we would have called that person crazy.
Perspective, please...
