Now seven Senators have made a deal to run the Senate, and they claim that it would be best for the President to get in his Presidential Yugo and drive down to the Senate Building carrying his hat in his hand to get his judicial nominees pre-approved.

McCain's drawn a distinct line in the sand. It will be interesting to see what Bush does about it.

If President George Bush accedes to this power grab, he will go down as the worst President in history.

I can understand your trepidation of this scenario playing out, and make no mistake, a power grab is absolutely what occurred yesterday, but I think it's an exaggeration to say this President would ever be ranked near the bottom.
FTR...As of yesterday I am no longer a Republican. The heart and soul of the G.O.P. was interred out in Simi Valley, Calif. last June.
Bush has done some very good things for America and for Americans. But his significant contribution to perpetuate an ever-growing federal intrusion on our sovereignty is inexcusable.

The United States Senate gave up its legislative power to the federal courts; now the Senate proposes to usurp Presidential powers. Where is our Constitutional Republic in all this?

This is the saddest part about the entire episode. Our founders feared this, though it appears too many of our current leaders fail to heed, purposely or not, the warning echoed from over two centuries ago.

***a power grab is absolutely what occurred yesterday***

You stand head and shoulders above many on this thread that are incapable of understanding it!
