Bob is NOT just reacting to the current situation.
It just does not seem to matter which party is in control - things continue to deteriorate. Let's see over the last 20 years:
First Amendment:
1) Hate speech laws, PC run amok threaten/weaken/destroy the First Amendment.
2) Anti free speech in the passed campaign finance laws. New FEC laws proposed to regulate/fine internet sites that are involved in politics (See Redstate.org).
3) Anti free speech laws regarding abortion (special laws governing how close protestors can get to an abortion clinic, among others).
4) Anti religious groups and judges ruling against the First Amendment (Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof). Note that there seem to be many laws that have been passed that disregard the second part "or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" of this amendment.
Education/Government:
1) Education system that is collapsing due to government/union controls. Parents have no say anymore. Those that have the gold (government/unions) control the agenda
2) Big government spending continues at an ever increasing pace threatening economic collapse. Guess the Republicans decided to grab some of the gold for themselves.
There are many other things that could be added, but you get the point. Dont be surprised that these patterns eventually cause some negativity in an otherwise optimistic outlook. Sometimes it seems that we go back two steps for every step forward
Your points are dead on!
I agree...but those are current expectation of our society. But we must change those expectations from the bottom up, not the top down or we'll be no better than they are and our "wins" will be incredibly fragile.
