Making them pay not doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. In a sense we lost the battle but not whe war. We can still get our person on the Supreme Court...time will tell...if we have trouble with the Supreme appointment, then maybe it is time for heads to roll...until then, we'll see.

And a bit tangential, but here goes: I disagreed with the comprimise but I understand one of the underlying reasons for it: the democrats could always win back a majority...then we'll want to filabuster judges, won't we?

Well, it's probably not a good idea to plan now for the day you are in the minority. It could end up being a self-fulfilling prophecy. But, that doesn't matter, really...

If a moveon.org-fueled Democrat party ever captures the Senate, those 51 votes to change the rules will materialise before every senator has even made it to their seats.

My opinion, sad to say, is that the Republicans would NEVER have the guts to do it . . . and that if they did, the Democrats would use the "nuclear option" in a heartbeat. And the MSM wouldn't blink an eye.

A Republican "wimp-out" only emboldens the Dems, demoralizes the base and makes the day of minority status come sooner.

Just my opinion.

I hope I'm, wrong, and all this works out.
