NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Times Co. on Wednesday said it planned to cut 190 jobs, or about 2 percent of its work force, including reductions at its flagship New York Times newspaper.
The company said about two-thirds of the job losses will occur at The New York Times, with less than 25 of the cuts coming from the newsroom, where it said a voluntary reduction program will be in place.
Other job losses will occur at its New England Media Group, which includes The Boston Globe newspaper.

I'm not surprised this is happening. The Jayson Blair fiasco and the continuing anti-Americanism of the editiorial views of the New York Times are reasons why they're losing subscribers rapidly, forcing this move.

Those evil capitalists - trying to keep making a profit on the backs of the workers - the executives should all take a 10% pay cut to pay for these poor workers to keep their job...

Hey, if they take this opportunity to balance out the ideology of their staff by making all 190 cuts to liberals, they might be able to bring the ratio of liberals to conservatives down to only 10-1 or so.

I hope every single one of the people let go sue them for some form of discrimination. Especially if someone is secretly transgendered or at least claims to be.

You got that right.
At what point will they learn that their editorial policy is NOT shared by the majority of Americans?
Sooner or later the bottom line will be $$$$ and they will have to change ... or perish.

Are their employees being replaced by illegals?
I certainly hope so, as they have been at the forefront of demanding "Open Borders."

Only 190? I'll bet they have more editors than that.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact I cancelled my subscription to my local NYT affiliate a month ago?

I wouldn't take that paper if they were giving it away.

I guess recycling used toilet paper is not keeping New York Times going, so they have to get rid of 190 people.

I wonder what the MSM spin with be on this compared to other corporations who have had to lay people off ?
Are they going to put New York Times in the light as the " EVILLLL " corporation who wants to put people out on the streets with no jobs ?
