LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) Runaway Bride Jennifer Wilbanks is indicted with making a false statement and reporting a false crime.
What good is putting them in jail going to do? Take away all of their assets and make them pay restitution. Put them to work in public service and also make them continue making restitution. Putting them in jail just continues to take money from us because we have to pay for their upkeep.
County judges are often elected at the county level. If that is the case in Georgia, then I don't expect the court to toss the case at the county level. I do expect dismissal at the appellate level.
A blanket AND a stuffed animal, both meant for traumatized children, I'm guessing?
Yes. Blanket: courtesy of the knitting talents and big heart of Aunt Mabel.
If you're worried about lack of space and money in U.S. prisons, how about we:
1. Deport the 30% of the prison population that consists of illegal immigrants.
2. "Finalize" the 600+ inmates on death row in California.
We'll see. I can't believe a prosecutor and an elected county judge will let a case that lacks jurisdiction proceed further knowing it will be later dismissed.
That is a start. However, deporting does not seem to work as far as prisoners is concerned. Did you see the report about that guy that murdered that man and shot his son? He had been deported and then sneaked back in, had an Oregon driver's license, too. Now they are hunting him down.
However, that is a tiny drop in the bucket to our current prison population.
Yes, I was thinking she might have some kind of thyroid problem too.
"What about the crime of an ridiculously expensive wedding?"
Charge her mother as an accessory.
This woman has five previous arrests, 3 of which were for shoplifting. She has completed a treatment program and even served some weekends in jail. Apparently, she just never learns her lesson.
I don't see the thread having been posted under humor
I think the first five minutes in jail would have taught me my lesson.
This girl comes from a wealthy family. There is no reason for her to be shoplifting. Therefore, she has to have serious mental problems. She needs a long time in a mental hospital and she should be followed up by a psychiatrist on a regular basis and a therapist. That should be part of her plea agreement and it should be enforced.
Hadn't heard anything from him in a while. Maybe he wised up! Sure hope so -- he seemed like a decent guy.
She'll get off on an insanity plea.
With those eyes? It's a slam-dunk insanity plea.
I hope this woman gets treatment as she is mentally ill.
