Look, if the 3 nominees now declared to be "acceptable" are the standard, then any judicial nominee Bush puts up in the future who is just as conservative as these three must also be considered acceptable and can't be filibustered under this agreement.

You're dreaming PJ and so is NRO. You actually think the dems are going to rollover and start voting for cloture on every Bush nominee?

Yes, you've made it clear you don't listen to much of anything. Hence your apparent ignorance on this topic.

It makes NO DIFFERENCE what the Democrats do. MOST of the RINO will vote to end the filibuster rule if the Democrats break the agreement. Not only that a new standard has been set. The 3 appointees that the Democrats now admit are NOT unusual.

About a year from now the Democrats are going to realize they were SNOOKERED by Bush. Let them gloat for now but reality will hit them soon.

Applause!

My, I feel put in my place.

What I have made apparent to you is that I don't accept spin. If you are going to waste my time trying to present an illusion as truth you are not worth a moment of my time. So, call my ignorant again. It doesn't alter that Fourteen Senators have displaced 86 others and the President of the United states.

You don't understand the democrats PJ. This is all about the SCOTUS. Why usually smart folks don't understand that goes right over my head.

Here's there strategy. They have 7 Republican senators in writing committed not to change the rules in the 109th Congress. If 2 of those repubs break their words and vote to change the rules, then they will be attacked for breaking their words in the august senate, rightfully I might add.

Then the democrats, through their media friends, will convince the average American that they have been more than reasonable by allowing three "extremely conservative" nominees to get an up or down vote.

Then they will fillibuster Bush's SCOTUS nominee in hopes they pick up seats in the 110th Congress which they well might since McCain and his buds gave political cover to some of their counterparts in this bogus agreement who are up for election in 2006.

That's the plan and it may well succeed.

It could have all been averted and we could have gotten all our nominees a vote, not just three, including Rehnquists replacement.

Big freaking mistake.

I will call you ignorant again. You bunch of gloom 'n doomers are the ones attempting to spin and present illusion. The most salient points on these threads are invariably from those of us who aren't on the verge of suicide because we haven't bothered to do any reading or critical thinking.

Will the special election with DeWine in Ohio be a test of whether there is any backlash? If DeWine doesn't feel it in OH, then they have a green light to stunt for their 15 minutes in the MSM.

The one involving his son? If his son goes down to crushing defeat that could make a few worry, but no, the real test is knocking out these Senators in their elections. Not their progeny.

If the son is not damaged while the issue is hot, it will be a forgotten non-issue by everyone except 3 freepers in each contested Senate race.

When your kid misbehaves, make the correction immediately... not 17 months later.

"Linsay Graham and John McCain may be the first gay marriage in the history of the Senate."

Do you have anything to offer but rhetoric?
