You have no empirical evidence that this is actually the case....There is the rub. To approach God you need more than intellect. Empiricism is woefully inadequate to discern holiness, the divine, or the will of God. Simplest way I know is go to him in prayer. Too proud to try that? The only other alternative is wait till your dead and hope that you can repent in the hereafter.

Did you ever study history? What standards of "empirical proof" did you apply to your history textbooks?
Do you believe that Julius Ceaser was stabbed to death in the Roman Senate? If so, upon what do base that belief?

Also I believe God wouldn't inspire it to be written only to let it be incorrect in what it says. Think about it - 66 books, 40 different authors, written over a period of 2000 years and all in perfect harmony. It is so kool, Shalom
PS. consider the sacrifice story and wedding of Isaac in Genesis, it reveals the whole of eternal truth of the entire bible!
