The generosity was late in coming. Most of her guests are not compensated for their appearances. All these years of people spilling their guts to entertain the Oprah audience are ratings grabbers who profit Oprah. She changed the tenor of her shows because it eventually got to her conscience, she admitted this, but not until she was very wealthy.
