The entire situation is despicable from both points of view -- that the Dems would play these games in order to keep the leftist tilt not only on the USSC, but on several other Federal courts, and that the Reps would continue sulk around with their tail between their legs.
I'll be glad when there's a viable third party, because these Republicans represent me less and less.
The big three for the 2004 election:
1. WOT
2. Judicial appointment (Constitutionalists)
3. The borders.
1 Is carrying itself at this point, I praise those who put it in motion (especially the military folks).
The lack of leadership and representation on the other 2 counts is enough for Rove to lose his base.

I don't think there is any other way to interpret events. It is SO-o-oooooo aggravating. I had such high expectations for Bush's 2nd term. Time's awastin' . . . and I can't see any of the strong, bold "take charge" moves that he made during his 1st term.
