"Only postponed it like the nitwits they are."

Or as one republican senator said, "They just kicked the can a little further down the road.

The best we can hope for is that at least 2 of our 7 senators have no problem breaking their word given freely in the agreement.

Sad.

There were 1000s upon 1000s of articles on this mess, and no one really knew if the votes were there, if Frist forced the issue.

Exactly. What this did do, was to let these cowards off without having to show their hand. None of them wanted to get bad press and they also didn't want to have to answer to the folks back home. The majority of people in the red states were all for puttin the hammer down on these obstructionists. Now the 7 rat Repubs won't have to answer for a vote!

Having 14 Senators control the whole bowl of wax is an abomination. We have 100 Senators. The filibuster was letting the minority control business in the Senate, that was bad enough. What would you call it now that 14 of these snakes are now doing business for the whole nation? Sucks rocks if you ask me!

I'm still not convinced that this wasn't a legislative defeat for the RATS. Without this deal, the vote on cloture today probably would have been no different from previous attempts.

We're all wringing our hands, pointing fingers, withholding donations to the RNC, yet the judicial confirmations are starting to proceed.

We'd better hurry to cut off our noses to spite our faces before good things happen.

I can't think of anything more laughable than the hard-left lamebrains of the Black Caucus telling the rest of America what is "mainstream."

Can we demonstrate against them for discriminating against lighter skinned black people. We should have a million man march against the congressional black caucus for their historical discrimination of lighter skinned black people.

Neither side is happy because both sides felt they were giving up on principles.

All the more reason why neither side is worth a bucket of spit. The GOP "A-hole Seven" and the "seven dwarfs" of the 'rat side are equally degenerate and a waste of our Republic's precious oxygen.

I enjoyed reading that analysis, but as usual, it does not consider that Janice Rogers Brown and Priscilla Owens would have mitigated the impact of racist or sexist claims against them by virtue of their sex and skin color, and been the ideal posterchildren for why the filibuster was unconstitutionally holding up nominations. And the breaking of the filibuster is going to be necessary to get a proven conservative SCOTUS nominee through.

This happy horseshit about how we should wait for Lindsay to be proven wrong...you people forget that the MSM will spin this extremism, racism, and sexual harassment crap hard, and smear the hell out of any white male nominee with a conservative record. And for a white male, it will STICK. The RINOs will bolt like Specter did when that happens.

We had a chance here that Lindsay and his pals pissed away. All they collectively did was weaken our chance at restoring the Constitution someday, that's all. But y'all keep on buying that "wait and see if I do you wrong" crap from RINOs. It's been so productive thus far.
