The distributors? Mobbed to the gills, always have been. The smaller ones probably are. The more mainstream producers, such as Vivid, are traded on the NYSE. Mobbed up companies simply cannot make it through the NYSE's vetting process.

I'm not sure how the vetting process missed the Hirsch family's (Steve Hirsch is Vivid's president) well-documented connections to Reuben Sturman and the Gambino family.
Vivid was created through Hirsch's mob connections. It's impossible to imagine they've since given up all interest in the country's largest purveyor of porn.
With this much money floating around, anything can be corrupted. Including vetting processes.
