Deputies Say Woman Left Boy In Car Trunk For Hours
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- An Asheville woman is charged in the death of her 8-year-old son after allegedly leaving him in the trunk of her car while she went to work.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Asheville police arrested Michelle Gibson Sunday after her son Devon was found dead in her car.
Capt. Steve Lillard said investigators believe Gibson, 36, left Devon Gibson in the trunk of the car while she went to work at the Mountain Trace Nursing Home in Sylva, N.C.
After getting off work Sunday, Lillard said Gibson told a co-worker what happened, but then drove to her apartment in Asheville, where she was arrested.
A cause of death for the boy has not been determined, but heat is believed to be a factor in his death.
Gibson was charged with voluntary manslaughter, second-degree murder and two counts of child abuse.
Her bond was set at $100,000.

How does she forget he's in there?
How does she justify putting him in there in the first place?

hmm from the headline i thought the mother died. Got excited for a second. I too dispair at headline writers, and their ignorance of the purpose of the comma and the proper construction of a sentence.
Another stupid construct in the story is this one:
After getting off work Sunday, Lillard said Gibson told a co-worker what happened, but then drove to her apartment in Asheville, where she was arrested.
This implies she knew the kid was dead before she arrived home.

Is it just me or are people getting dumber and dumber? That poor child died a slow and horrible death. This "woman" needs to be permanently removed from society. BTW, where's Dad?

It's Bush's fault. This poor woman could not afford a babysitter for her son while she took a job working for less-than-living wages. /sarc

Her bond was set at $100,000 WAY too low.
