Also, here's a quote from the White House on this, as per the AP:
The White House said the agreement was a positive development.
"Many of these nominees have waited for quite some time to have an up or down vote and now they are going to get one. That's progress," press secretary Scott McClellan said.
So as I said last night, is everyone directing their fire at the wrong end of Pennsylvania Avenue here? It doesn't sound like the White House is overly upset about this. And IMHO, I think if the White House had wanted to stop that "deal" last night, they have sufficient weapons in their arsenal to apply enough pressure to do so.
