They haven't been filibustered yet, and, I think, won't be now. Remember, there are six Dems who don't WANT the filibuster, either.

The fallout for the RHINOS will be E-NOR-MOUS! Sigh.
That is what we would like to see happen.
But it won't.
And we know it.

Funny, I don't think Priscilla Owens was guaranteed last week. In fact, she was one of the ones specifically NOT guaranteed.

There is a philosophy of war, I think argued by no less than Sun Tzu, that says leave your enemy a "golden bridge" to retreat rather than annihilating him and you will destroy him ever so surely. This doesn't work with Democrats or terrorists. If not annihilated, they will be back biting you in butt and/or trying to kill you next week.

"And I'll make all Freepers this promise: if there are any shenanigans about ANY of these judges, I vote against the Republican in the OH senate in 2006---even if I have to vote for Jerry Springer."
I hope you will vote for the GOP candidate if he knocks off Mike DeWine in the primary.
Too bad Rob Portman will still be U.S. Trade Representative next year; he could beat Mike DeWine in the primary and become a great Senator. And Ken Blackwell will be too busy winning the gubernatorial election. Who else could beat DeWine? Congressman Chabot? (But that would leave the 1st CD vulnerable to a RAT takeover.)

Remember Sun Tzu.
All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.
Sun Tzu, The Art of War.

"So you're leaving the GOP because 7 GOP Senators made a weasely deal? What about the 48 GOP Senators who *didn't* betray our principles?"
They did betray us. Where were they all week when they could have been placing heavy pressure on the betrayers?
These senators should have been all over TV, hitting the streets and making calls for the cause. They are just a part of the system, and simply abetted the democrats by their cowardice. I am done with them. This is nothing new. I said a long time ago that any "compromise" would cause me to leave the party.
Where was the RNC when it came to placing these RINOs on notice?
They were hiding cowards.

Actually, I think a lot of this deal was done to allow the RINOS to win their elections, otherwise they would lose. Not saying that's necessarily good, but regardless of their personally inclinations, some of them live in states that are VERY liberal (Chafee, Snow) and do have to win elections.
The golden bridge. Keep that in mind. Sun Tzu was no fool.

America just lost big time and I'm not supporting the GOP with one more cent. Honestly, I would wait and see on this. Remember the progressive liberals didn't institute their changes over night nor will we return to some form of self government quickly. We need consistently win battles over years to win the war. Like I said it will all depend on how the GOP fights the definition of extreme in the future. Im just saying lets wait see, until then lets take the victory of several good judges put in position's to interpret law and not legislate it. You might be surprised at how many people actually like this type of compromise, granted they rarely have defining principles or distinct philosophies they follow, but they happen to be the coveted independents that are so important when it comes to election time.
