Centrists from both parties reached a compromise Monday night to avoid a showdown on President Bushs stalled judicial nominees and the Senates own filibuster rules, officials from both parties said.

Go to the
National Republican Senatorial Committee to voice your outrage. Below is my letter:
The Republican senators I helped get into the majority have compromised on President Bushs judicial nominations. I will tell every Republican I know not to contribute one thin dime to the NRSC ever again. We in the grassroots worked our tails off for this majority and McCain et al., have betrayed us, our president and his future Supreme Court nominees. I hope you realize that the NRSC will starve for funds for the foreseeable future. The 55-Senator GOP majority wasnt worth our effort.
The RINOs made a disgusting mistake taking us for granted.

I know I am in the minority here but, until more details come forward I see this as a nothing issue to a slight victory. They agree to vote on all Judges, unless extraordinary circumstances exist. I don't see how this does anything except get the first few judges up for vote. As long as the GOP is willing to fight on the definition of extreme I don't see how the "Constitutional option" is taken off the table for that conflict.

I'm not making excuses for anyone. I think it might---MIGHT---be good strategy, and I'm waiting to see the votes, unlike you.
Sun Tzu: "Build your enemies a golden bridge that takes them the direction you want them to go, so that you avoid a battle to the death."
We want the judges---except it seems like some here want a lot more: they want to rub the Dems' noses in it. Personally, I like winning more than the appearance of winning.

The turncoat RINOs: McCain, DeWine, Snowe, Warner, Graham, Collins (update: chafee who is not present)
Each one must pay, and pay dearly.
IMHO, Graham is done next election, and DeWine is likely gone as well. The others were already lost to the dark side.
BTW, you can probably add Specter and Lott to the list, who wanted to be a part of it but could not be for political reasons.

You don't know? McCain just ensured her election about 45 minutes ago.
I am going to support a party with some backbone.

You have got to be freaking kidding!!!!!! Damn the GOP, they sold out again! If this is legit, then I'm never voting again. This will prove that we just can't trust any of them. Time for another american revolution.

I'm with ya bigfootbob...we need to get rid of the cancer not cut off the head.
Target the Rino's that made this possible...from my understanding of what's on the news all but two, which may not have had the number of votes to pass anyway, are all up for an up or down vote now.

Look it. Have you ever heard of Jay Inslee? Congressman Washington 1st. district. Undoubtedly one of the most liberal congressman out there.
We have him because of the Constipation/American Heritage party pulled off enough angry conservatives like yourself in 1998.
This is exactly what will happen again with your help. You're pissed now, what happens when you suck off enough votes next time and we all have to learn to say President Hillary? You'll be right here bitching the loudest, I presume.
You'd be a much better American if you focused your anger in a way that matters and just doesn't make you FEEL GOOD. That's liberalism at its worst and it affects our side too.

"We traded an empty phrase ('extraordinary circumstances') for actual judicial positions."
But we only got 3 of them approved, with 2 hung out to dry and I don't know what happened to the 2 remaining ones.
I hope Republican primary voters send Mike DeWine a message by voting against his RINO son in the 2nd CD primary. GO, BRINKMAN, GO!

$5 to the next FReepathon says one of the six RINO turncoats votes against cloture when the first vote for it comes up. It will happen sooner than you think. Just think how the pub's caved on the RATs staff memo that exposed the whole RAT collusion scheme. No, they won't repudiate this odious deal. It isn't testosterone, it's backbone that is needed.

Wow! Thanks. That was fun, LOL.
If you think about it, what they're saying is true.
We got something out of the deal (vote on judges); they stated they wouldn't filibuster SCOTUS except in extreme cases (which means they'll of course filibuster, LOL), but to the American people, they'll hear that the Dems are breaking their promise to not filibuster which will be bad PR; and there's always the nuclear option for use in the future (and from what I was hearing today, I wasn't too sure we had the votes for it anyway.)

Limp-wrist Frist rides again. While it's true that he is an MD, it's less well-known that his family owns a vast HMO/Medical Insurance empire in TN. It's not as if the guy is some country doctor or mere family practicioner trying to make ends meet between the lawyers, the government, and the insurance companies (one of the only groups of people on earth who occaisionally make lawyers look honest.)
