To hear normally intelligent Freepers, espcially some that all last week were charging like bulls in a china shop as the debate raged, think we "won something" by being "allowed" by the Dems to take their view, their language and their rules is amazing.
How have we taken the Dems view? They get nothing. If they won, how come they agreed not to filibuster and to vote for cloture on three so-called extreme nominees.
But to actually believe Dems promises is beyond understanding. How often do people need to get lied to before they wake up??
I believe that the Dems might very well lie, but if they do I think their moderate RINO friends will not let them get away with it. If it turns out that they vote down any of these three or that they made other side deals I will reconsider but that remains to be seen.

McCain, et al will be incensed if they are screwed by people that they know will screw them because they themselves have no principles and only care about their petty power grabs, egos and thinking they can get good press.
And even after decades and decades of lies, deceit and being stabbed in the back (remember the promise to Bush 41 they'd cut $2 in spending for every $1 increase in taxes ???), THIS TIME they are sure they got the upper hand to let three "extremely controversial" judges get a vote that still isn't guaranteed to confirm.
