Harry Reid said that they have just sent a message to President Bush..."THAT HE MUST STOP ABUSING HIS POWER" ! He also said that they've saved the Republic from the far right wing lunatics. He also said that from here on out, they are going to move very slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly. That the "nuclear option" is OFF THE TABLE !

What do you expect Dingy Harry to say? Do you expect him to say he lost and that filibustering is wrong and must stop?

Dingy Harry is not one of the moderates that signed this and he doesn't talk for the RINOs who agreed to look reasonable and give the moderate Dems a chance to go against their party leadership and agree to stop filibustering judicial nominees.

I am disappointed that the Rats got to save face and my tagline hasn't changed for six months, I want these nominees as bad as anyone, but the nuclear option is not necessary if they stop filibustering. They blinked. So I say give them a chance and if they lied, they'll be crushed.

By spinning this as failure we are allowing the opposition to frame what the decision says. I expect to see some clarifications tomorrow from the involved parties and President Bush will likely say something like "I am glad that the Senate minority has agreed to stop using the UnConstitutional filibuster and allow my worthy nominees to get an up or down vote. That's all we have asked for for four and a half years, and now it looks like we'll get them. I hope they don't go back on their word and start these unConstitutional tactics again but we'll be watching."

Close. According to APnews My Way

"The White House said the agreement was a positive development.

"Many of these nominees have waited for quite some time to have an up-or-down vote and now they are going to get one. That's progress," said press secretary Scott McClellan said. "We will continue working to push for up or down votes for all the nominees."

I'm beginning to wonder if casting the nuclear trigger as being in GOP hands wasn't a deliberate setup, to permit the DEMs to save face while losing their asses. Plus, the GOP squishess are going to get an earful. Good chess, if somebody was looking that many moves ahead.

I just don't agree. The Dems never promised to stop filibustering, except on three nominees. They will filibuster the rest, and Bush's first USSC nominee. Count on it.

The Republican Senate has failed us.

Please remove the rose colored glasses, find someone who has good reading comprehension to explain what's in this "compromise", and forget about the childish and stupid " we'll be watching" bit.

Dingy Harry said the truth, for a change.......THEY WON.

The Dems, who have called every single judicial nominee, this president has sent them, EXTREME, are not, not, NOT going to stop filibustering.

All "we" got was an up or down vote on three, THREE, nominees. That's it.

Would you care to tell me why you think that KKK BYRD is a " moderate" ?

The so-called nuclear option was and IS necessary and it's nows off the table for the NEXT TWO YEARS.
