I can't read fast enuf to absorb all the comments here, BUT...

what did the Republicans lose? Nothing, that I have seen.

What did the Dems lose? The 3 judges who are "most conservative" will not be filibusted. And they did not lose face.

It looks like everything else is the same as usual.

Am I missing something? I know that the devil is in the details, but...

What did the GOP lose? Votes. The base will stay home in 06.

They blew the chance of a whole generation. This will mark the beginning of the end of the conservative momentum.

I agree. The democrats were forced to back off on the filibusters, and the vote will be called. We won this one. We get to vote like we should have been able to in the first place. The democrats backed down.
