This is such a terrible tragedy for such a small community in rural Ireland.
Prayers please for the bereaved, and for the children still critically ill in hospital.

A very sad Irish ping.
A prayer for the families, if you can.

,,, what dreadful news. Prayers for their souls and the loss the families and friends will suffer.
It wasn't that long ago that something similar happened in Switzerland.

Crews from the Northern Ireland ambulance service were also put on stand by to help with the rescue operation. ,,, County Meath is a northern one or the Northern Ireland ambulance service came a long way south?
To: shaggy eel
Meath is North of Dublin - and with traffic, some of the Northern Ambulances would get there as quickly as those from hospitals in the city centre.
The volume of ambulances needed for this tragedy would have required cross-border assistance. Thankfully, the Northern Ireland ambulance corps could come to the assistance of the health service down south.

Bus Crash in Peru Kills at Least 35 By Associated Press LIMA, Peru -- A passenger bus plunged off a bridge into a river on Saturday, killing at least 35 people and injuring 30 others in central Peru. The bus, which had departed hours earlier from Lima, carried mostly vendors taking their wares to a weekend market, radio reports said. The accident happend about 100 miles east of the capital, near the town of Jauja. Thirty-five bodies were recovered and 30 people were being treated for injuries, said Mansueto Arche, a spokesman at the Domingo Olavegoya Hospital in Jauja. Arche said more bodies were believed to be inside the bus, which was partially submerged in the Mantaro River. "The accident happened in the morning when it seemed like the driver lost control of the vehicle turning a curve and coming onto the bridge, where it broke through a guardrail and fell," a survivor identified as Javier Salcedo told Radioprogramas. Hundreds of people are killed each year in bus crashes in Peru, where drivers frequently speed and pass other vehicles on blind mountain curves.
