You just recited the beliefs of the modern Episcopal Church USA.
Every Sunday feels more and more like a warm cup of spit.
And if it doesn't make conservatives, Dubya and Israel look bad, they will be sure and report that it does.
Ah, yes. The old grapefruit smuggling ploy.
I think that's a wonderful idea! :-) Try the cloaking device.
Wouldn't happen to have a spare one laying about, would you?
:^)
Someone said that people are Democrats until they grow up and own a home, have a family, pay taxes etc :) I think all people go through changes in their belief systems.
This author just happened to have a bully pulpit. Good luck to him in the brave new world of independent thinking. I am a mostly conservative guy but depart from most in areas like the death penalty. I am against it. I think life in prison is more punishing, real prison, no TVs, spas, etc. Then if you make a mistake, it can be corrected! But I am nowhere near a liberal leftie! I do however waver when it comes to child abusers/murderers...
Anyway glad to see something like that printed in the city by the bay, maybe more will start thinking.
I've often thought a bullet in the head is to kind for some deserving such, so I know how you feel- but when we hold them in prison in order for them to suffer punishment, we pay the monetary costs of maintaining the prisoner.
Just something to consider- if he's never going to see the light of day anyway, why not just rid ourselves of the offender and save money?
Shoot, I think it's in my other purse. Sorry. :-)
A left averse to making common cause with competent, self- determining individuals -- people who guide their lives on the basis of received values, everyday moral understandings, traditional wisdom, and plain common sense -- is a faction that deserves the marginalization it has pursued with such tenacity for so many years.
Very well said.
If he'll freepmail me, I'll send him a VRWC Card -- lots of former dems here. Those who broke the true believer liberal bonds are always welcome.
I used to feel that way. I really did. But I think the quick painless death they get does nothing. Hard labor for the rest of his life, real prison not a country club but one where they make big rocks into little rocks or stamp license plates. And if someone is imprisoned wrongly it gives society a chance to say "Ooopsie"
In addition I found it hard to justify a Pro-Life stance with a death penalty stance so one of em had to go :)
